About this project
From May 23 to June 25, the state of Mato Grosso hosted the Circo no Brasil project, an initiative aimed at bringing circus magic to more than 15,000 Mato Grosso residents of all ages. Passing through the cities of Sorriso, Lucas do Rio Verde, Nova Mutum, Sinop, Matupá, Boa Esperança do Norte, Tapurah and Alta Floresta, the project featured a show with free performances for public school students, mixing theater, dance and different juggling techniques, one of the most traditional and present in the circus universe.
Conceived and realized by NTICS Projetos and sponsored by Agro Baggio, the project is being carried out through the Culture Incentive Law, and aims to stimulate access to cultural goods, especially for children and teenagers.
A total of 34 performances took place in the eight cities. In The Magic of the Canvas, set in an enchanted plantation, a terrible storm ravages the land, taking all hope with it. With the help of magical creatures, the brave Doralice sets off in search of a lost dream, discovering that the real magic is the hope that springs up in each of us, leading the audience to reflect on how hope is the seed for creating a better world.
